Sarvatra issues 1 crore Debit Cards in 3 monthsCard Management
On 31st December 2016, India’s Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi addressed the nation and, in his speech, he also announced a slew of measures to boost the digital economy of the country.
One key announcement was that in the next 3 months, 3 crore (30 million) Kisan Credit Card (KCC) customers will be issued RuPay debit cards, which will enable the rural bank customers to withdraw money from ATMs and sell and buy at any place through digital transactions.
District Central Co-operative Banks (DCCBs), the issuers of KCCs, were amongst Sarvatra’s clients, and we helped them achieve the target comfortably within time.
challenge
Given the large number of cards to be issued and the short duration allocated, our biggest challenge was time management and scaling up of our Card Management operations.
solution
We at Sarvatra ramped up our Card Management operations and teams, and in close tie-up with the DCCBs and NABARD, we streamlined our operations to complete the mission.
Date and Period of Implementation:
Start: 01 January 2017
Deadline: 31 March 2017
Number of Sites:
24 states & 2 Union Territories in India
Number of RuPay Debit Cards issued:
1 crore or 10 million cards
results
We achieved 1/3rd of the national target of 3 crore or 30 million Rupay Debit Cards in a record time.
We also received the following letter of appreciation from NABARD congratulating us upon the successful completion of the target.
Dear Sir/ Ma’am,
Please refer to the frequent conversations NABARD, MRO Pune had with you in the run up to 31.03.2017, when we were looking for support from Sarvatra for timely issuance of RuPay Kisan Cards by our DCCBs.
Thanks to timely support from you and your team, Maharashtra stood first among all the states in the country by issuing the largest number of RKCCs between 01.01.2017 to 31.03.2017.
We deeply appreciate your effort in servicing our banks. We look forward to your continued support in keeping Maharashtra in the first position on the leader board.
